Adolescent use of cannabis a risk factor for attempting suicide

2 October 2014
New research has revealed that young Australians who use cannabis daily before they are 17 are seven times more likely to attempt suicide than other young people who have never used the drug.

The research from the University of New South Wales also shows that young people who have used the drug frequently are 60 per cent less likely to complete high school or achieve a tertiary degree than those who haven’t used it.
