I have been feeling really paranoid lately, like someone is watching me all the time and someone is going to hurt me even though I know that no one is watching me. I don’t know what to do and I’m way to shy to tell anybody about it. Please help me.

    Hi Meerkat-man,

It's really great that you have decided to ask for help here on the forums. It can be really difficult asking for help but you have taken a great step forward in posting your concerns. Can I ask how long you have been feeling like this? Have you talked about it to a trusted friend or family member?

I suggest that you contact the BeyondBlue support lines to discuss your concerns further. I always found that when I was too shy to talk about how I am feeling that live chat or email was a great way to communicate. Perhaps you could try the BeyondBlue live chat? They are available to chat from 3pm until midnight, just scroll down to the bottom of the webpage and click on the 'Chat Online' icon. You could also call the 24hr BeyondBlue support line on 1300 224 636. The people who answer the phones are fantastic and can give you some great advice and can help you further.

Hang in there and don't be afraid to ask for help, there is no shame at all. There are so many people out there that would love to help you!

    Hi Meerkat-man,

It must be really awful feeling like that all the time. Sometimes when we misinterpret information from around us, it can set off a fight or flight response and make us feel really on edge and paranoid, even though the logical part of our brain knows there is nothing to fear.

Talking through your paranoid with someone (via online chat, on the phone or in person) will be the best way to make a change to how you are feeling.

Can I ask when you feel like this and how long you have been feeling this way for?

Thanks for being brave and posting about how you are feeling. I want to help :)
